Requirements
Must:
- 5-7 years of experience in implementing, administering, or architecting Microsoft Business Central within a manufacturing setting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MRP, inventory management, BOMs, routings, costing, procurement, and supply chain operations.
- Expertise in system integration architecture, including REST APIs, OData, middleware, or iPaaS solutions.
- Demonstrated capability to convert business needs into high-quality technical designs and scalable solutions.
- Prior experience with AL development, extension architecture, and Microsofts suite of ERP development tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in troubleshooting complex system issues.
- Successful collaboration history with teams in manufacturing, finance, operations, and quality.
- Preferred: Experience facilitating ERP go-lives or Business Central upgrades.
- Preferred: Familiarity with Power Platform technologies (Power Automate, Power Apps).
- Preferred: Experience in SQL, data modeling, reporting instruments, or BI solutions.
- Preferred: Understanding of best practices concerning master data governance and security.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical authority for Business Central architecture, configurations, customizations, and integrations.
- Define and uphold technical standards for ERP systems along with extensibility methods and data structures.
- Collaborate with the CIO and Director of Enterprise Systems to shape the Business Central roadmap.
- Design comprehensive business process workflows across manufacturing, MRP, procurement, finance, inventory, quality, and supply chain.
- Configure Business Central modules, workflows, rules, and settings to meet functional specifications.
- Ensure that system design is consistent with established manufacturing best practices.
- Construct and maintain extensions, customizations, APIs, data models, and AL code for Business Central as required.
- Develop workflows, automation logic, and integration patterns ensuring they remain scalable and manageable according to Microsoft standards.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for Business Central, addressing issues through root-cause analysis and corrective measures.
- Maintain accurate master data structures, governance, user roles, and permissions.
- Diagnose system performance concerns, integration issues, and errors specific to modules.
- Design and assist with system integrations utilizing APIs, middleware, or iPaaS platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to construct and maintain ERP extensions, workflows, data structures, and custom features.
- Preserve high-quality data models that cater to analytical, reporting, and operational demands.
- Guide functional and technical solution design sessions with business stakeholders.
- Support ERP launch activities, such as cutover planning, data migration, testing, and validation.
- Pursue long-term optimization through ongoing improvement, monitoring, and enhancement cycles.
