Requirements
Must:
- I require candidates to have a minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, ideally within a managed service provider (MSP) environment.
- Proficiency in PSA, RMM, M365, and server administration is essential.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities across Windows, networking, and cloud platforms are necessary.
- Familiarity with Active Directory, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is expected.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills are crucial.
- Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A valid driver's license and dependable transportation for onsite visits are mandatory.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) will be advantageous.
- Experience with Mac OS and Google Workspace is a plus.
- Exposure to advanced platforms (ConnectWise, Sentinel One, Avanan, Datto, Ubiquiti) is beneficial but not required.
- I look for individuals who have the desire and capacity to develop into a solutions architect or technical leadership position.
Responsibilities
- I expect you to provide Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, networking, and security challenges.
- You will need to respond to escalated service tickets through our PSA and ensure swift resolution.
- Onsite visits to client locations for troubleshooting, installations, and upgrades will be part of your role.
- I will ask you to configure and maintain security tools such as EDR and BDR.
- Supporting and managing network infrastructure from core to edge will be required.
- Documentation of solutions and updates to the internal knowledge base will be critical.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and nurturing positive client relationships is essential.
- You will be expected to participate in team meetings and contribute to process enhancements.
- Itβs important to ensure adherence to company policies and client-specific requirements.
- As you work towards growth, I will have you serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, assisted by mentorship from senior staff.
- Additionally, you will assist in designing and deploying IT solutions, including networking, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
- Collaboration with sales and senior technical staff to scope and present solutions for larger prospects will also be part of your responsibilities.
- Participating in project management and implementation for significant IT projects will be expected.
- Your contribution to technology stack standards and process improvements will be valuable.
- I may involve you in supporting vCIO/vCTO activities for strategic clients as your experience expands.
- Mentoring Tier 1 & 2 technicians and participating in team development initiatives will be included.
Description
I am offering a competitive salary range depending on your experience and certifications. This position is full-time with an hourly pay rate of $30.00 to $45.00. This position requires 2 years of experience in a Tier 2 role, and commuting to Urbandale, IA 50322 for in-person work is necessary.
