Requirements
Must:
- At least 4 years of experience with aircraft systems
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with Standard Group Markup Language (SGML) or Extensible Markup Language (XML)
- Over 2 years of technical writing experience
- Familiarity with multiple aircraft systems such as hydraulic, lighting, air conditioning, fire protection, and avionics
- Understanding of technical publication standards and military specifications
- Prior experience with military aircraft maintenance is a plus
- Proficient in using tools such as Epic Editor, Isodraw, and Arbor Text Tool Suite or similar applications
Responsibilities
- Conduct research and write/edit technical documentation for F-16 aircraft maintenance and operation manuals in accordance with military and contractual standards
- Apply style guides and formatting protocols to maintain consistency across all published materials
- Review technical content for clarity, accuracy, and compliance prior to publication
- Update publications based on feedback and operational changes
- Manage documentation timelines to ensure on-time delivery of technical documents
- Utilize content management systems and publishing tools for electronic and printed publication preparation
- Ensure documentation adheres to quality assurance standards and successfully passes audits
Description
We are a dedicated team based in Fort Worth, TX, seeking a talented Technical Publication Author/Writer to support the F-16 program. We offer competitive compensation ranging from $40 to $54.00 per hour on a W2 basis. Our ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, production, and sustainment teams to develop clear, accurate, and user-friendly technical publications that enhance F-16 maintenance and operational readiness.
