Must:
- A Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development.
- U.S. Citizenship is necessary and the ability to obtain a successfully adjudicated National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- A solid history of designing, constructing, and managing complex, large-scale distributed systems in production environments.
- Proficiency in various field concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Expertise in operating and modernizing infrastructure, as well as designing secure cloud architectures to facilitate the transition from IaaS to PaaS and SaaS for the OCIO.
- In-depth knowledge in areas such as distributed databases, real-time data processing, machine learning infrastructure, or performance optimization at extensive scales.
- Significant experience in developing sophisticated and high-performing user interfaces using modern frameworks like React or Next.js.
- Mastery of a major cloud ecosystem (AWS, GCP) along with infrastructure-as-code principles (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes).
- Hands-on experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from inception to successful global launch.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to dissect intricate technical challenges and deliver clear and concise solutions.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities, adapting to changing requirements, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Leadership skills demonstrated by mentoring junior team members and promoting team collaboration.
- Detail-oriented, committed to delivering high-quality, reliable software.
- Self-driven and proactive, able to take the initiative in uncertain situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- I will architect, build, and scale end-to-end systems, taking ownership of the technical strategy and execution for significant product initiatives.
- I will take full responsibility for mission-critical features, defining project roadmaps, setting technical direction, and executing efficiently.
- I will collaborate with the Commerce team to translate complex project goals into tangible technical proposals and exceptional implementations.
- I will advocate for engineering excellence across the organization, promoting best practices in code quality, system reliability, and operational readiness.
- I will lead technical deep-dives and architectural reviews, helping to shape the long-term technical vision.
- I will troubleshoot and resolve challenging production issues, developing resilient and observable systems that avert failures at scale.
- I will analyze functional business applications and design specifications for areas such as finance, accounting, personnel, manpower, logistics, and contracts.
- I will create block diagrams and logic flow charts to guide the development process.
- I will convert detailed designs into software, testing, debugging, and refining as necessary.
- I will enhance software to boost efficiency and minimize operating time.
- I will provide technical assistance to programmers to ensure deliverables are met on schedule.
- I will contribute to system design, including application programming on large-scale databases and developing complex software to meet design objectives.
