Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience with Amazon AWS, GCP, and Azure in an enterprise context; personal use is not considered equivalent.
- Proficiency in managing Kubernetes technology stacks (K8s, EKS, GKE, Helm, Prometheus, Cortex, Grafana, Istio, etc.).
- Strong familiarity with version control and release management principles and tools, especially Git, GitHub, SVN, and Bitbucket.
- Skilled in implementing and managing DevOps methodologies and toolsets like Chef, Terraform, Jira, Slack, Vault, and Python.
- Understanding of deployment practices leveraging CI/CD processes and technologies such as Jenkins, TeamCity, Tekton, Spinnaker, Octopus, and CodeDeploy.
- Clear recognition that implementing security principles and tools is essential.
- Knowledge of modern authentication mechanisms (OIDC, SSO, SAML, Federation).
- Proficient in managing Linux and Windows technology stacks, including Ubuntu, Windows Server, Nginx, Apache, MySQL, PHP, IIS, MS SQL, and .NET.
- Experience in building and supporting solutions using both serverless and server-based infrastructures in AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Familiarity with serverless technologies such as K8s, RDS, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, BigQuery, EKS, GKE, BigTable, Azure AD, Azure B2C, API Gateway, CloudFront, and Lambda@Edge.
- Solid understanding of key cloud design principles like High Availability (HA), Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), Least Privilege, Resiliency, Ephemeral Computing, Stateless Computing, Virtual Networking, and Scaling.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with key AWS technologies, including EC2, S3, RDS, Redshift, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CloudTrail, Storage Gateway, VPC, Transit Gateway, Dedicated Instances, Large Memory U-Type Instances, and Lambda.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with key GCP technologies such as Compute Engine, BigQuery, IAM, BigTable, VPC, Shared VPC, Flow Logs, and Cloud Functions.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering IT infrastructure and cloud projects involving multiple stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Extensive hands-on experience in technical server and enterprise storage management across all three major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Practical, hands-on experience with primary DevOps toolsets including Chef, Terraform Enterprise, Jira, Confluence, Git, Vault, and Slack.
- Hands-on experience with primary serverless technologies like k8s, GKE, EKS, Lambda, and RDS.
- Practical experience with primary VM technologies including EC2, Dedicated Instances, and Compute Engine.
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Golang, AWS CLI, GCP CLI, and Bash.
- Hands-on experience with various Linux distributions, including AWS Linux, Ubuntu, and SLES.
- Hands-on experience with Windows environments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and its tooling framework (K8s, EKS, GKE) alongside related tools like Grafana, Prometheus, and Cortex.
- Experience with other tools such as Dynatrace, Azure AD, Intune, SEP, Redlock, Prisma Cloud, SAP, and GoAnywhere.
- Bachelors or equivalent degree in an IT-related field is required; MCSE, AWS, GCP, and UNIX certifications are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various teams to deliver cloud infrastructure and services that meet our business needs.
- Manage and optimize cloud environments across AWS, GCP, and Azure, ensuring high availability and security.
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines to streamline software deployment processes.
- Support and enhance Kubernetes and associated technologies, ensuring effective container orchestration.
- Develop and uphold best practices for version control and release management, particularly with Git and related tools.
- Utilize scripting languages for automation and continuous improvement of our infrastructure processes.
- Engage in architectural reviews and planning sessions to align with cloud design principles.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure and application performance using a variety of tools.
- Stay current with emerging cloud technologies, recommending improvements to our systems and processes.
- Participate in on-call rotations to support critical systems and address issues as they arise.
