Requirements
Must:
- Minimum of 6 years of software development experience, particularly with large-scale data volumes from ingestion to persistence and retrieval
- Substantial hands-on experience in creating and refining solutions using Apache Spark with Scala
- In-depth knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Flink, and NoSQL databases
- High proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Scala for Apache Spark development
- Experience in utilizing Apache Spark; knowledge of PySpark is advantageous
- Familiarity with additional big data tools like Hadoop, Kafka, and Flink
- Experience working with various NoSQL databases
- Strong analytical skills and a talent for crafting innovative solutions
- Proficient in build tools like Maven, SBT, Gradle, and version control systems like Git
- Understanding of data modeling and ETL/ELT processes
- Experience transitioning ETL frameworks from proprietary technologies to Apache Spark
- Familiarity with machine learning and data analytics tools
- Insight into core banking and financial services systems
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying technical concepts effectively
- Ability to thrive in an Agile/Scrum development setting
- Proven ability to take responsibility for features and achieve results
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize big data processing applications using Apache Spark
- Manage the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes for diverse data sources
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing big data applications
- Continuously improve and optimize data processing workflows for efficiency
- Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices are followed
- Contribute to the evolution of our big data architecture and technology stack
- The role may require participating in Agile ceremonies and collaborating with Scrum teams
