Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related STEM field, with 3-8 years of experience in back-end software development (2-7 years with a Masters degree)
- Proficiency in SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases
- Experience with back-end languages (such as Rust, Python, or Java) in agile development settings
- Knowledge of back-end frameworks like Django, Flask, Spring, or Express.js
- Familiarity with API development and integration while collaborating with front-end developers
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git
- Understanding of software performance enhancement techniques
- Acquainted with testing frameworks specific to back-end applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Eligibility for a U.S. Government security clearance
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain server-side logic to support application features, manage user requests, and handle data operations
- Design and implement RESTful APIs for both internal and external communications
- Create and optimize database schemas, write effective queries, and ensure data integrity and security
- Engage in code reviews, debug code, and keep abreast of software development trends
- Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of back-end functionality with user interfaces
- Implement security protocols to safeguard sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access
- Contribute to the scalability and performance enhancement of back-end systems
- Document technical specifications for back-end systems and APIs
- Work with cross-functional teams to assess and refine system architecture, interfaces, and data models in an agile setup
- Actively participate in cross-disciplinary engineering teams to evaluate and enhance software products including architectural frameworks, behavior, interface requirements, and data models
