Requirements

Must:
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM degree - Over 5 years of experience as a Back-End Software Application Developer with a strong portfolio, and proficiency in modern object-oriented programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, Node.js, or Ruby - Experience with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) - Familiarity with back-end frameworks such as Django, Flask, Spring, or Express.js - Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud - Proficient in efficient data storage and retrieval techniques - Strong and demonstrable knowledge of contemporary design and coding principles and best practices - Familiar with version control systems (e.g., Git) - Understanding of software performance optimization techniques - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Excellent communication and collaboration skills Nice to have: - Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field - Experience with testing frameworks - Familiarity with security practices - Active TS with SCI eligibility - Experience in the space domain

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain server-side logic by writing code that drives application functionality, processes user requests, and manages data - Create APIs that enable communication between different parts of the application or various applications - Design database schemas, craft queries, and ensure data integrity and security - Ensure the application can efficiently manage an increasing number of users and data - Collaborate closely with front-end developers to integrate back-end functionality with user interface - Implement security measures to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access - Participate in code reviews, debug coded applications, and stay updated on software development trends - Ensure all changes or modifications are thoroughly reviewed, tested, and validated to avoid application downtime or performance degradation - Work alongside cross-functional teams to develop reusable code components and enhance application accessibility - Actively engage in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and other engineering working groups to review, evaluate, and improve engineering artifacts such as concept of operations (CONOPs), system architecture, system behavior, functional allocation, Interface Control Documents/Descriptions (ICDs), and data models - Provide technical guidance, meeting coordination, and software development expertise to assist customer decision-makers
