Requirements
Must:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associates degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or billing
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Experience working with remittance data and high volume transactions
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to research discrepancies and resolve issues independently
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) to open invoices
- Review remittance advice and supporting documentation to ensure correct application of cash receipts
- Investigate and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, overpayments, and payment discrepancies
- Post adjustments, write-offs, and account payments in line with company policy
- Maintain precise records and documentation for all cash application activities
- Reconcile daily cash receipts to bank deposits and reports
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Collections teams to address account issues
- Assist with month-end close activities and reporting pertaining to cash application and AR
- Support audit requests and uphold compliance with internal controls and procedures
Description
We are seeking a Cash Application Specialist who will play a vital role in ensuring accurate processing of customer payments and maintaining our accounts receivable records. This position is critical to the order-to-cash cycle, facilitating timely revenue recognition and the upkeep of clean customer accounts. We offer competitive hourly pay between $24.00 and $28.00, along with a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401K plan.
