Senior AI Engineer – Advanced Systems

- Design AI systems that support functions such as perception, decision-making, and control - Define and approve AI model architectures, training methods, and deployment strategies - Set system-level performance, reliability, and safety standards - Ensure compliance of AI outputs with established operational guidelines and protocols - Develop AI components that provide structured recommendations or control logic for autonomous platforms - Lead the integration of AI outputs with navigation, simulation, and command systems - Implement safeguards to prevent unsafe or non-compliant AI behavior - Establish testing methodologies, validation criteria, and performance metrics - Assess model robustness, scalability, and readiness for operation - Authorize models for use in various environments including development and testing - Ensure adherence to DoD regulations, data handling policies, and ethical AI standards - Supervise the use of sensitive datasets in line with clearance restrictions - Support audits and maintain documentation for compliance - Maintain traceability and accountability for all AI systems - Translate system and mission requirements into AI design decisions - Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers - Collaborate with systems engineers, analysts, and program stakeholders
