Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of four (4) years of technical writing experience in the aerospace sector or defense industry.
- Graduate Degree with at least two (2) years of technical writing experience in the aerospace or defense fields.
- Alternatively, a minimum of eight (8) years of technical writing experience in an aerospace context or within the defense sector, without a degree.
- Capability to obtain and uphold a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities to clearly convey complex technical information.
- Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, FrameMaker, and Microsoft Office.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects effectively while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Review flight and maintenance manuals for airborne and ground-based mission systems to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct thorough examinations of operational procedures including troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair processes.
- Evaluate training courseware development materials for clarity and correctness.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary technical specifications.
- Compile and structure researched technical information for quality assurance reviews of documentation.
- Perform formatting, grammatical, and technical assessments of illustrated parts catalogs and various other manuals for military programs.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with industry standards and complies with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Stay informed about project budgets, timelines, and deliverables by working closely with the management team.
- May oversee projects or processes under general supervision and recommend improvements to systems and methodologies.
- Work towards achieving operational objectives for designated programs, impacting departmental outcomes.
