Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from a four-year institution
- At least 6 years of experience in systems software design and analysis for power conversion equipment, or
- Masters degree or advanced education with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or
- 10 years of prior related experience without a degree
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret/security clearance
- Proficiency in embedded real-time systems software design
- Experience with object-oriented and service-based software architectures is preferred
- Skilled in embedded C and C++ programming
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as RS-232, RS-485, and Ethernet
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with Senior Project Management and clients
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate software projects for both existing and novel products
- Analyze customer specifications to outline software design requirements
- Provide technical leadership to the software development team
- Conduct requirement and software coverage analysis of the software codebase
- Draft software use cases and review test procedures for software validation and verification
- Document existing software products to adhere to qualification standards for regulated and safety-critical government contracts
- Manage multiple projects concurrently
- Assess project progress and assist in earned value reporting
- Suggest improvements in the technical approach to enhance engineering efficiency
- Lead and operate Agile sprint/Kanban teams, including sprint planning and JIRA ticket management
- Actively seek enhancements for the software team involving DevSecOps automation
- Assist in estimating efforts for software development bids and proposals
- Support new programs from conceptualization to completion
- Provide expert guidance on various software engineering concepts and practices
- Coordinate directives from Project and/or System Engineering Department Manager
