Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Alternatively, 10 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 3 years of experience in developing and testing software in C/C++ with strong object-oriented design skills
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance is mandatory
- Preferred: In-depth knowledge of embedded software development on software-defined radio platforms
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, specifically SCRUM practices
- Capacity to produce quality software development documentation, including design specifications and test plans
- Proficiency in multi-threaded, multi-core architectures and real-time operating systems
- Familiarity with all stages of the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and automation tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaboration and reporting
- Proven ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and debug complex software and hardware interactions
- Knowledge of radio communications and networking technologies
- Hands-on experience with tools and practices for continuous integration and deployment in DevOps
- Demonstrated history of leading small teams effectively, including planning, coaching, and progress tracking
Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the architecture, design, development, integration, testing, and maintenance of radio software
- Conduct research and collaborate closely with hardware development teams to design embedded software and platforms for software-defined radios
- Define design methodologies and parameters, analyze software requirements, and ensure feasibility within budgetary and scheduling constraints
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to assess interfaces and operational needs
- Provide strategic input and recommend approaches for the radio product line
- Create design and implementation plans and present findings in technical briefings and status reviews
- Translate customer needs into software development specifications through functional analysis and technical interface definitions for radios and subsystems
- Estimate work scope, contribute to project scheduling, and ensure milestones are met on time
- Mentor and coach team members, sharing knowledge and encouraging technical growth
- Communicate effectively throughout the organization to influence leadership and promote new practices and ideas
- Act as a subject matter expert during peer reviews and oversee the resolution of software defects
- Lead sprint planning and assignments within Agile development frameworks
- Provide technical support to internal and external clients, including factory software introductions and resolving manufacturing issues
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to clearly explain complex technical concepts
