Senior SATCOM Systems Engineer

Requirements
Must:
- Experience with Department of Defense or government SATCOM initiatives.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline (Masters degree preferred).
- At least 6 years of relevant SATCOM experience with a Bachelors degree or 4 years with a Masters degree.
- Understanding of encryption, COMSEC/Cybersecurity protocols within SATCOM systems.
- Solid knowledge of RF theory, digital communications, network protocols, and signal processing.
- Ability to design and analyze link budgets and RF propagation models.
- Proven experience with SATCOM systems integration, network management, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with SATCOM hardware (modems, antennas, amplifiers, switches) and relevant industry standards, as well as SATCOM waveform standards (e.g., DVB-S2, MIL-STD-188-165A).
- Active TS/SCI U.S. Government Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and oversee comprehensive SATCOM systems, such as ground stations, modems, antennas, and RF components.
- Establish system architecture, specifications, and interface requirements.
- Create link budgets, network diagrams, and performance models for systems.
- Integrate and set up SATCOM hardware and software solutions.
- Conduct system-level tests, troubleshoot, and optimize coverage and reliability.
- Assist in proposal writing, cost estimation, and technical solution presentations.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design notes, protocols, and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with project managers, software developers, hardware engineers, and clients to meet project goals.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and security protocols.
- Provide technical support and training to both internal team members and external stakeholders.
