Requirements
Must:
- U.S. citizenship with an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
- Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- At least 3 years of experience developing production systems using the RUST programming language
- Proficient in C/C++ development
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Preferred: Experience converting C/C++ code to RUST
- Preferred: Experience in embedded systems development
- Preferred: Background in object-oriented design and implementation with knowledge of modeling tools like IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo
- Preferred: Experience developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems
- Preferred: Knowledge of Information Assurance and/or cryptography
- Preferred: Familiarity with NSA Type 1 certification or other software certification like DO-178
Responsibilities
- Support engineering team members in developing embedded software applications, specifically utilizing RUST
- Lead the implementation and integration of RUST along with its associated techniques, idioms, design patterns, and tools across various product lines
- Apply concepts and principles from computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis in software development for the designated hardware
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to design and assess hardware-software interfaces and operational performance requirements across the overall system
- Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, hardware-software integration, and formal testing
- Investigate and resolve complex challenges, working both independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
- Create software testing plans and procedures, along with other pertinent technical documents
- Utilize modeling tools and equipment to gather operational data, conduct experimental tests, prototype, and assess outcomes
- Participate in peer reviews, identify defects, and track and rectify issues
- Work with various programming languages, primarily RUST, C/C++, and Python
