Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related scientific field, with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in EO/IR systems engineering.
- Alternatively, a graduate degree and at least 7 years of related experience, or 13 years of related experience without a degree.
- Over 5 years of experience in systems integration and testing.
- Experience with electro-optical/imaging systems and space environment testing protocols.
- Prior experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) and Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL).
- Proficiency in engineering and simulation software tools, such as MATLAB.
- Current or active Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of space systems engineering, including satellite systems and mission design, is preferred.
- Familiarity with NASA standards, such as NASA-STD-1540 and NASA-STD-7002.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams and cross-functional engineering activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex engineering challenges.
- Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written, adaptable to various audiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate cutting-edge electro-optical systems for applications in space, ensuring all mission specifications are met.
- Lead a team of engineers, guiding them in technical project execution and collaboration.
- Oversee the Mission Payload Flight AI&T (Assembly, Integration, and Test), managing subcontractor costs, schedules, and performance.
- Design and implement test procedures for electro-optical components, analyzing data to validate system performance.
- Establish and maintain system and sub-system requirements while ensuring traceability throughout the project.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams from the initial design phase to the final delivery and operational steps of the project.
- Create and update detailed technical documentation, including test plans, reports, and procedural guidelines.
- Conduct trade studies that support organizational decision-making processes.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including subcontractors and government customers, ensuring alignment on project goals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in all engineering activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate successful system integration and testing outcomes.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing methodologies and practices.
- Mentor junior engineers, promoting their professional growth within the team.
