Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 10 years of related experience.
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of relevant experience is required.
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance preferred.
- Proven technical leadership and software architecture experience in mission-critical government systems.
- Proficiency in Java, Python, and C# across the entire software development lifecycle in secure, distributed environments.
- Extensive knowledge of Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, with demonstrated experience leading Scrum teams and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
- Expertise in software integration, testing, and deployment, including Docker for containerization.
- Strong background in software quality assurance, configuration management, and platform security.
- History of effective technical mentorship and cross-functional team leadership across multiple sites.
- Experience with space domain systems and active SCI clearance.
- Familiarity with technologies such as Spring Boot, ActiveMQ, and modern messaging/data frameworks.
- Advanced skills in algorithm development and data management.
- Proven ability in managing multi-development baselines and integration among diverse partners.
- Significant experience collaborating with stakeholders in distributed environments.
Responsibilities
- Set the overall technical vision and direct the development of enterprise-grade software and systems solutions for next-generation space operations.
- Act as the primary authority and decision-maker for large-scale space domain software initiatives.
- Shape the strategy for software development, covering web, desktop, and distributed solutions.
- Engineer and integrate advanced capabilities, merging legacy and new technologies to provide effective mission solutions.
- Implement leading Agile development and DevSecOps practices across the organization, establishing technical standards for continuous integration and automated testing.
- Foster a culture of excellence by mentoring and developing engineering teams, including guiding junior staff to become future leaders.
- Drive the adoption of new architectures, frameworks, and advancements, conducting root cause analyses to enhance systems in line with security and compliance needs.
- Manage full life cycle development, software testing, troubleshooting, deployment updates, and maintaining high-availability satellite command and control environments.
- Engage with stakeholders at various levels—from customers to program management—effectively conveying complex solutions and advocating for mission success.
