Scientist, Systems Engineer - Optical Systems Lead

Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree in engineering with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience
- Graduate Degree with at least 10 years of related experience
- Minimum of 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Active Secret security clearance
- Over 5 years of technical leadership in systems engineering
- More than 5 years of experience with space-based payload or vehicle systems
- Expertise in performing technical analysis, managing specifications, and generating design reviews and documentation
- Proven experience in leading product tests and design verification efforts
- Familiarity with designing, procuring, and testing laser/focal plane subsystems is preferred
- Systems engineering experience in electro-optical hardware development
Responsibilities
- Oversee the requirements traceability and creation of test plans to validate requirements
- Conduct technical analyses, manage specifications, and produce design review and technical documents
- Implement design trades to facilitate informed technical decisions
- Lead design reviews such as Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR)
- Direct the integration and testing of electro-optical/infrared systems and related hardware/software
- Manage product testing, design verification, requirements sell-off, and end item data package generation
- Support and conduct data analysis and modeling and simulation tasks
- Assess space vehicle and customer needs to define and synchronize system performance requirements
- Evaluate and address risks within the program
- Mentor a burgeoning team of Systems Engineers
- Contribute to proposal activities and program planning
