Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field - Minimum of 12 years relevant experience or a graduate degree with 10 years of experience - If no degree, at least 16 years of relevant experience - 5 years experience developing production systems using RUST with a comprehensive understanding of the language - Proficient in C/C++ development and object-oriented design - Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance - Experience with embedded systems and converting C/C++ code to RUST is preferred - Familiarity with software modeling and UML tools such as IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo is beneficial - Experience in developing device drivers and Board Support Packages for real-time embedded systems is a plus - Understanding of Information Assurance and/or cryptography is an advantage - Knowledge of NSA Type 1 certification or SW certifications like DO-178 is preferred - Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

- Guide the integration and adoption of RUST within embedded development teams - Oversee the transition of legacy software to RUST - Provide architectural guidance for memory-safe implementation of RUST - Develop best practices and methodologies for RUST usage - Translate requirements into functional and maintainable software solutions for the C5 and Cyber Solution Centers - Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and define task scopes - Support all stages of the software development life cycle including analysis, design, implementation, and testing - Investigate complex issues and devise appropriate solutions, both independently and as part of a team - Create software test plans, procedures, and relevant documentation - Utilize modeling tools to establish operating data and evaluate results - Conduct peer reviews, identify issues, and track resolutions - Serve as a mentor and technical reviewer for junior engineers - Be prepared to travel over 30% to other L3Harris locations for onboarding and integration tasks
