Lead Systems Engineer - Mission Protection

Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree with at least 9 years of relevant experience, or graduate degree with 7 years of experience
- Minimum of 13 years of related experience if no degree
- Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly clearance required
- 5 years of experience in threat modeling, vulnerability analysis, and risk management
- 5 years of experience supporting a Weapons and Tactics team, with a focus on protection strategies
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience briefing senior stakeholders
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Battlespace Awareness operations certification
Preferred Skills:
- Graduate of Air Force Weapon School or Advanced Instructor Course
- Experience as a DoW/NRO Systems Liaison or Field Representative
- Solid background in Orbital Mechanics
- System Tool Kit (STK) Level 2/3 Certification; Orbital Determination Tool Kit (ODTK)
Responsibilities
- Lead the contractor Mission Protection team on a mission-critical national security program
- Conduct mission protection assessments to identify vulnerabilities in space, cyber, and ground systems
- Collaborate with mission planners and partners to incorporate protection strategies throughout the system lifecycle
- Develop and execute mitigation plans while implementing countermeasures aligned with mission assurance priorities
- Coordinate protection efforts with DoW and IC stakeholders to align with national-level guidance
- Create and maintain program-specific threat models, Concept of Operations (CONOPS), and risk management frameworks
- Oversee red/blue team assessments, tabletop exercises, and program security reviews
- Prepare briefings and documents for senior leadership on threat assessments and mitigation strategies
- Work independently and collaboratively in classified operations centers, supporting 24/7 mission requirements when necessary
