Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in engineering with at least 9 years of relevant experience, or a graduate degree with a minimum of 7 years of related experience
- In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of related experience is acceptable
- Over 5 years of experience in Python, C/C++, or VHDL
- Professional expertise in implementing image/video processing algorithms in FPGAs, GPUs, or embedded systems
- Active DoD Secret clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development of image and video processing algorithms for space-based EO/IR systems
- Oversee analysis of image and video processing algorithms to assist with system-level trade studies, requirement compliance, and system characterization
- Conduct modeling and simulation activities to accurately represent Earth-observing EO/IR systems in LEO, MEO, and GEO
- Implement custom and OpenCV-based image/video processing algorithms in various hardware platforms
- Execute complex trade studies to evaluate various algorithms for optimal performance using tools like NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, CV2, and CUDA
- Familiarize oneself with Overhead Persistent InfraRed (OPIR) imagery and its phenomenology
- Enhance instrument documentation, processes, and testing procedures
- Assist with the development of operational concepts and requirements analysis, decomposition, and generation at different levels of the system
- Ensure requirements traceability and assist in creating test plans to validate requirements
- Support the integration and testing of electro-optical/infrared systems and associated hardware/software
- Aid engineering teams in developing technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans, and procedures, ensuring compliance with specifications
