Requirements
Must:
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
- Active Secret clearance required, TS clearance preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of directly related work experience in project/systems engineering, including requirements analysis, development of architecture and technical specifications, interface control documents, test plans and procedures.
- Understanding of business development processes/lifecycle with an emphasis on capture, proposal planning, and development.
- High-level understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS), and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- Willingness to travel occasionally.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of communications systems, providing technical leadership for DoD programs.
- Ensure life-cycle support of communications systems from conceptual development through product phase-out, including architecture development, customer briefings, and proposal writing.
- Manage complex technical projects and guide the technical direction/vision for given projects.
- Develop and present project/program design reviews for both internal and external customer audiences.
- Lead technical management over the systems engineering team and other teams of functional design engineers.
- Ensure technical performance, quality, and adherence to established policies and processes by all technical organizations associated with a project/program.
- Participate in responses to customer Requests For Information (RFI), Requests For Proposal (RFP), and new business development pursuits.
- Conduct requirements analysis, requirements decomposition, and manage traceability of requirements back to customer specifications and system-level derived requirements.
Description
I am L3Harris Broadband Communications Sector (BCS), seeking a Lead Systems Engineer who has extensive experience in leading engineering teams for the development and sustainment of communications systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical project management and lifecycle support, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with classified and strategic program environments is essential, as is experience with SATCOM and Commercial Space Internet related programs. The Lead Systems Engineer will also be responsible for technical documentation, design oversight, integration, verification, qualification, and in-house technical support throughout the operational life-cycle of the system.
