Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline with a minimum of 9 years of applicable experience in real-time embedded software development with C or C++
- Graduate degree and at least 7 years of relevant background
- Minimum of 13 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Proven experience in designing and implementing DSP algorithms
- Familiarity with simulating and analyzing DSP algorithms
- Ability to decode hardware schematics, circuit designs, and datasheets
- Proficient in multi-threaded, multi-core design and/or real-time operating systems
- Comprehensive understanding of the software project development life cycle, including software analysis, design, development, and testing
- Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM
- Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) or similar software development frameworks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated capability to troubleshoot and debug software alongside hardware issues
- Experience with FPGA design and development
- Knowledge of radio communications or IP networking
- Leadership experience in small teams, including planning and tracking performance
Responsibilities
- Research, design, develop, modify, and assess embedded software for communications systems in collaboration with hardware development
- Lead and participate in all phases of the product development cycle within an Agile Scrum framework
- Conduct detailed analyses including requirements gathering, use case development, conceptual design, and reliability assessments of radio communication products
- Collaborate with test, manufacturing, product management, and program management teams to define and fulfill radio product development
- Transform customer requirements into comprehensive system solutions balancing technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Consult with electrical engineers to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and overall system performance
- Create software testing protocols and design documentation
- Demonstrate interpersonal abilities, articulating technical concepts clearly and logically
- Stay informed on the latest advancements in DSP technology and incorporate new methodologies
- Drive the strategic direction of DSP solutions while identifying areas for innovation and enhancement
- Work in tandem with an experienced Agile team on projects focused on developing advanced real-time signal processing solutions
