Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
- Graduate Degree and at least 7 years of related experience
- Minimum of 13 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
- Proficient in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, Bash, or PowerShell (preferred)
- Experience with service-based and event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with integrated environments, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid deployments
- Knowledge of messaging systems such as Solace, JMS, or Kafka
- Understanding of API gateways or similar integration platforms
- Experience with performance monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana
- Previous exposure to government or regulated delivery environments (preferred)
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Zephyr Scale, and GitLab CI/CD
- Adaptability to new tools, technologies, and testing methodologies
- Strong time management skills to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Critical and creative thinking abilities to troubleshoot issues
- Competence in Microsoft Office Suite is a plus
- Experience in mentoring junior testers and developers
- Excellent interpersonal skills for collaboration with internal and external customers
Responsibilities
- Develop performance testing strategies, scenarios, workload models, and success criteria for cloud-based applications
- Conduct testing of distributed systems, APIs, web applications, and cloud platforms
- Employ performance and resiliency testing methods
- Utilize automated testing tools and scripting, particularly Python/pytest
- Analyze logs, metrics, traces, and infrastructure behavior
- Verify response times, throughput, and resource utilization for critical workflows
- Execute baseline, load, stress, soak, and volume tests
- Identify bottlenecks in applications, messaging, APIs, and databases
- Monitor and report on cloud application performance metrics under realistic conditions
- Create and maintain automated test scripts for performance assessments
- Offer data-driven recommendations for performance enhancements
- Test non-functional requirements in a lab setup
- Ensure traceability between customer demands and testing procedures
- Troubleshoot and verify system performance issues while collaborating with development teams
- Seek opportunities to integrate automation in the testing process
- Collaborate with project leads to resolve project actions and issues
- Identify and communicate process improvement possibilities
- Stay updated on trends and technologies in cloud performance testing
- Ensure ability to obtain FAA Public Trust security clearance
