Requirements
Must:
- Strong customer service and communication skills (this is essential)
- Network-oriented experience within a NOC or technical support setting
- 4+ years of direct or phone-based technical support experience
- 2+ years of expertise in LAN/WAN networking
- Familiarity with routers, switches, and wireless access points
- Competence with internet connectivity and security appliances
- Understanding of DNS, SMTP, and SNMP
- CCNA preferred (or equivalent networking knowledge)
- Experience with a ticketing system (ConnectWise or similar is ideal)
- Knowledge of VoIP, PBX, POTS, or PSTN is a bonus
- Capability to multitask, prioritize, and remain composed during high-pressure situations
Responsibilities
- Provide engineer-level technical assistance through phone, email, and ticketing systems
- Monitor networks and systems to detect outages or performance concerns
- Address network, connectivity, and service-related issues
- Proactively inform customers about issues and deliver regular status updates
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party vendors to restore services within SLA
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, troubleshooting efforts, and resolutions
- Escalate intricate issues to senior engineers or specialized teams as necessary
- Conduct basic root cause analysis and implement insights to avert future problems
- Manage multiple incidents simultaneously in a high-paced environment
- Engage in an on-call rotation for after-hours support
- Assist with customer environment upgrades and enhancements
- Contribute to the creation of knowledge base articles and standard operating procedures.
