Requirements
Must:
- Active Fortinet NSE 7 certification is mandatory.
- Proven hands-on experience in FortiGate firewall engineering, setup, and management.
- Previous involvement in Fortinet implementation or rollout projects.
- Experience in supporting enterprise-level or multi-site network configurations.
- In-depth knowledge of firewall policies, NAT, IPsec VPN, SSL VPN, routing, VLANs, high availability, and best practices in network security.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities for complex issues related to firewalls, routing, VPN, and connectivity.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN, and enterprise network structures.
- Capability to work remotely on a full-time, 40-hour weekly contract basis.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer is preferred.
- Experience in managing large environments with numerous branch, retail, healthcare, financial, or enterprise locations is an asset.
- Experience with Fortinet SD-WAN implementation or assistance is a plus.
- Knowledge of Fortinet Security Fabric, IPS, web filtering, application control, and centralized firewall management is advantageous.
- Additional certifications such as NSE 4, NSE 6, NSE 8, CCNA, CCNP, Security+, or equivalent are a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate the implementation, rollout, configuration, and continued support of Fortinet security infrastructure across a distributed client environment.
- Set up, manage, and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, associated policies, NAT rules, VPNs, routing, and security profiles.
- Assist in the Fortinet rollout and support initiative for an environment with approximately 500 locations.
- Diagnose firewall, VPN, routing, connectivity, and performance issues occurring across multiple sites.
- Manage firewall modifications, policy updates, rule changes, migrations, upgrades, and configuration cleanup.
- Collaborate with client technical teams, project groups, and internal resources to troubleshoot issues and complete project tasks.
- Support the use of Fortinet management tools such as FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer when needed.
- Document configurations, support activities, troubleshooting methodologies, and project progress.
- Adhere to established procedures for change management, security, documentation, and escalation.
- Provide clear communication and regular status updates to relevant stakeholders.
