Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters or PhD may substitute)
- A minimum of 4 years experience with data interchange systems
- Proven expertise in developing and supporting data interchange systems, including flat files, direct database connections, XML transactions, and multiple heterogeneous data sources
- Over 4 years of hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, DataStage, Pentaho, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, or similar
- At least 4 years of experience in data modeling, including logical and physical data models, dimensional models (star/snowflake), and data warehouse schemas
- Experience developing ETL pipelines to support data analytics, BI environments, and data warehouses or analytical datasets for a minimum of 4 years
- Strong SQL experience (4+ years) including complex joins, stored procedures, query optimization, and data transformations
- Must meet all minimum qualifications to be considered.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain ETL pipelines to facilitate analytics and reporting
- Integrate data from various sources such as flat files, XML, and direct database connections
- Design and enhance data models tailored for analytics
- Collaborate with business users to validate data and gather requirements
- Support data quality, governance initiatives, and troubleshoot data-related issues
- Work with BI teams to guarantee data readiness for dashboards and reporting.
Description
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Data Integration & ETL Engineer to join our team and assist a government agency with its large-scale data analytics and integration project. The role will be based in Albany, NY, requiring one day on-site each week. As part of our long-term contract, you will engage in creating complex data pipelines and integrating a range of data sources while ensuring a robust analytics environment.
