Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Technical Writing, English, Journalism, or Engineering, or 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer/Content Editor.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Acrobat.
- High level of expertise with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Familiarity with style guides, including The Chicago Manual of Style and the Microsoft Writing Style Guide.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information according to government regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective teamwork with colleagues and supervisors.
- Self-driven with strong organizational abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with industry-standard agile trends (docs-as-code, AI-assisted documentation pipelines) is a plus.
- Knowledge of various documentation tools and collaboration platforms (Git, Astro Docs, Mintlify, etc.) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Research, outline, compose, and revise both new and existing documentation by collaborating closely with departments and stakeholders to understand their objectives and requirements.
- Proactively gather insights from subject matter experts to create, structure, draft, and edit Standards, Policy, and Process documentation essential for network product launches.
- Produce user-friendly content that effectively addresses the target audiences needs while ensuring consistency, clarity, and adherence to company standards and industry best practices.
- Leverage docs-as-code workflows, rapid formatting, and version control collaboration tools (Git/Artifactory); utilize plain-text syntax for structuring, formatting, and linking documentation.
- Identify areas for process enhancement and contribute to establishing and maintaining documentation best practices.
- Ensure proper version control and management of templates that comply with organizational and legal standards, facilitating smooth data migration.
- Participate in meetings and provide updates as necessary; must be present at the assigned worksite during designated hours.
- Support various departments with technical documentation requests.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
