Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical domain.
- At least 10 years of experience in systems engineering or radar system development/sustainment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of system engineering lifecycle processes, including requirements analysis, design definition, integration, and verification.
- Experience with complex radar or defense electronic systems, particularly in legacy environments with limited technical documentation.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody, DOORS, or similar).
- Capability to develop and interpret functional block diagrams, interface specifications, and architecture models.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and technical writing abilities.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AN/SPY-1 or other advanced radar systems.
- Understanding of Open Systems Architecture (OSA) principles and Navy digital transformation initiatives.
- Background in DMSMS analysis, sustainment roadmap development, or depot activation tasks.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration, digital thread concepts, and configuration-controlled data environments.
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
Responsibilities
- Lead or contribute to the formulation and breakdown of system-level requirements for radar subsystems (transmitter, signal processor, antenna).
- Develop and oversee requirements traceability relating to radar weapon specifications, interface control documents (ICDs), and testing objectives.
- Assist in creating a digital technical foundation utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and structured data repositories.
- Define and sustain functional, logical, and physical architectures for the SPY-1 system and its components.
- Engage in design recovery and reverse engineering activities for Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) hardware and legacy system documentation.
- Analyze interdependencies between subsystems and define interface specifications and system constraints.
- Collaborate with test, software, and hardware engineering teams to establish verification and validation strategies.
- Participate in technical reviews, risk assessments, and system readiness planning throughout program phases.
- Aid in technical baseline management through configuration control, change assessments, and documentation updates.
- Support the creation of Integrated Data Packages (ITDPs) and depot activation planning documents.
