Requirements
Must:

- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and military specifications
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines
- ASQ Quality Engineer certification (preferred)
- Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO systems (preferred)
- Experience in manufacturing (preferred)
- Knowledge of metrology and gauging methodologies (preferred)
- Understanding of assembly methods and fabrication (preferred)
- Experience in aerospace quality assurance (preferred)
- Demonstrated statistical analysis skills and process control (preferred)
- Experience with composites (preferred)
- Strong project management skills (preferred)
- Six Sigma certification (preferred)
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering discipline or physical science, or equivalent experience required
- Varies by level of Quality Engineer, requiring increasingly extensive experience in manufacturing environments
Responsibilities
- Design and develop quality assurance and control systems
- Implement a variety of quality concepts, practices, and procedures
- Aid in product and manufacturing process design as well as verification and validation methods
- Identify and resolve product and manufacturing non-conformances
- Design inspection methods to detect defects within processes
- Establish comprehensive quality and inspection plans under supervision
- Interpret design specifications to identify quality deliverables
- Review inspection data for qualification of new products and tooling
- Conduct first article inspections and prepare related documentation
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with operations management to maintain quality management systems
- Work with engineering teams to drive quality enhancements
- Ensure quality considerations are documented during design and manufacturing reviews
- Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for issues
- Support and guide Quality Inspectors in quality compliance
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineers to address quality concerns
- Perform audits and develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions
- Analyze customer complaints and implement corrective measures
- Maintain quality-related documentation and standards
- Track and report quality metrics to stakeholders
- Update process control plans and Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEAs)
- Verify supplier quality standards and conduct audits
- Address technical supplier issues and facilitate corrective action reports (SCAR)
- Define inspection processes using GD&T knowledge
- Review documentation to support product delivery
- Manage discrepancies in materials as identified by stakeholders
- Assess and report on process performance focusing on critical quality metrics
- Comply with safety regulations
