Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience with RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave devices, circuitry, and systems
- Proficiency in designing circuitry for high-frequency receivers, transmitters, and signal generation
- Familiarity with design tools such as MWO, ADS, CST, HFSS, Sonnet, SPICE, and Altium
- Knowledgeable in signal routing, mechanical layout, and packaging technologies
- Ability to conceptualize system designs through block diagrams and cascade analyses
- Proven leadership in project execution including assembly, testing, debugging, and optimization
- Strong organizational skills for design reviews and customer presentations
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; Masters degree (MSEE) preferred
- Over 10 years of relevant experience in the RF & Microwave industry
- Experience with Mixed Signal & Direct-RF / Direct-to-Digital products is advantageous
- Previous management experience in developing technical personnel
- Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving abilities
- Hands-on lab skills with test equipment for tuning and aligning circuitry
- Experience with RF design software such as Cadence/AWRs Microwave Office and/or ADS
- Familiarity with EM simulations using HFSS, CST, and/or Sonnet
- Commitment to high ethical standards and personal excellence
- Ability to meet project goals, lead multiple teams, and handle simultaneous bid tasks
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of RF & Microwave Design Engineers in developing frequency converters, synthesized frequency sources, and solid-state power amplifiers for aerospace and defense applications
- Manage personnel growth, new business proposals, and the transition of new products to production
- Oversee development and operational enhancements in the RF, Microwave, & Mixed Signal design group
- Participate in recruitment and team expansion initiatives
- Direct the design of RF architectures and systems utilizing frequency planning and chain analysis tools
- Design RF components using industry-standard software
- Evaluate and select suitable devices according to customer requirements and operating environments
- Conduct trade studies for key performance metrics such as noise figure and power compression
- Lead hardware layout, prototype construction, and testing processes
- Create test specifications, analyze results, and verify hardware performance
- Facilitate internal and external design reviews, presenting findings to leadership and clients
- Offer insights on technology advancements to foster continued innovation within the team
