Director of Engineering, Chief Engineer (Prometheus)

- Lead engineering initiatives to reach production readiness across multiple SRM product lines - Convert designs and technical data from parent companies into manufacturable, rate-capable production baselines - Establish and manage Engineering Readiness Levels (ERL) aligned with production goals - Spur design for manufacturability (DFM), assembly (DFA), and enhancement of producibility - Collaborate with Operations for line qualification, tooling validation, process certification, and yield enhancement - Direct root cause analyses and corrective actions during initial production ramp - Ensure effective margin management and performance stability during production scaling process - Oversee the transfer of knowledge from parent companies to Prometheus - Lead the systematic transition of key elements such as technical data packages and manufacturing process documentation - Set up processes to convert transferred knowledge into controlled, U.S.-owned configuration baselines - Implement documentation control and digital engineering systems to forestall knowledge loss - Ensure independent analytical capacity and technical authority are established within Prometheus - Cultivate internal subject matter expertise to minimize reliance on parent companies over time - Supervise design and manufacturing engineering for all SRM systems and subsystems - Manage ballistic, thermal, structural, testing, and performance analyses necessary for production certifications - Oversee configuration control across all hardware revisions and customer baselines - Direct engineering support during static fire testing and qualification efforts - Work with Operations to enhance production, address issues, and drive process improvements - Cooperate with Quality to integrate engineering requirements into inspection and acceptance standards - Assist with explosive safety documentation and compliance in partnership with Safety & Security - Provide engineering leadership during customer audits, readiness reviews, and production assessments - Support proposal efforts with technical volumes informed by producibility considerations - Create and manage an engineering structure designed for scale production support - Formulate staffing strategies aligned with production expansion plans - Develop internal technical leaders and subject matter experts in crucial propulsion disciplines - Create structured onboarding and training programs to enhance workforce capabilities - Promote a culture centered on technical excellence, safety, accountability, and disciplined execution
