Requirements

Must:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field - 3-8 years of experience in mechanical design or structural engineering - Strong comprehension of structural mechanical design - Knowledge of load paths, stress analysis, structural durability, and thermal effects - Proficiency in interpreting and creating engineering drawings with GD&T - CAD software expertise (SolidWorks preferred) - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities - Capability to collaborate across multidisciplinary engineering teams - Experience handling confidential and export-controlled information (ITAR) - Familiarity with structural FEA tools is preferred - Experience in AS9100-regulated environments is a plus - Background in designing aerospace engine structures or propulsion hardware is advantageous

Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of non-rotating structural propulsion components such as engine casings, structural frames, and mounts - Assist Design Engineering in creating 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings - Establish best practices based on customer requirements and internal methodologies - Implement continuous improvement methods for refining component design processes - Verify designs for structural load, thermal performance, and durability - Ensure engineering drawings and specifications comply with configuration management standards - Maintain thorough design documentation, including bills of materials and technical specifications - Oversee Engineering Change Requests and maintain configuration control within PLM/PDM systems - Conduct and coordinate structural analysis for non-rotating components, ensuring integrity and durability - Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to confirm that components are manufacturable and serviceable - Ensure effective support of system interfaces including those with rotating assemblies and fuel systems - Assist with testing and validation of components and evaluate performance data - Participate in root cause investigations and drive design improvements based on performance analysis - Work closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication of design requirements
