Requirements
Must:
- Extensive experience in the design, development, and testing of training systems under US Department of War regulations and standards
- Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices related to system design, integration, and verification
- Ability to interpret and define system architectures, interface control documents, requirements specifications, and system models
- Proficient in principles, methodologies, and management tools for requirements analysis
- Experienced in system architecture development, documentation, and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) or Design (MBD)
- Familiar with risk management processes
- Knowledge of control systems principles
- Strong computing skills and familiarity with standard office software
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a relevant technical field (extensive experience may substitute for education)
- At least 10 years of experience in systems engineering or a related technical domain (e.g., simulation, process control, or energy industry)
Responsibilities
- Lead requirements analysis to gather, document, and manage the functional and non-functional requirements of systems
- Create proposal content for new business initiatives
- Research and define integration strategies for design
- Design, develop, and maintain the system architecture, establishing a comprehensive blueprint for components and their interactions
- Apply system modeling techniques for visualizing and analyzing the structure and behavior of simulations
- Conduct functional analysis to break down high-level requirements into detailed functions and assign them to system elements
- Identify and evaluate potential risks associated with development and integration, proposing mitigation strategies
- Define the system and its integration, including interfaces with control systems models or data
- Participate in test planning, establishing strategies and scope for validating the integrated simulation system against requirements
- Create and communicate system architectures, integration plans, and interface definitions for diverse designs and related systems
- Identify integration requirements and data exchange needs, collaborating with discipline engineers to define compatible solutions
- Serve as a technical lead to facilitate system coordination and provide guidance to other technical team members
- Liaise with leadership, customer representatives, process engineers, discipline engineers, and software developers to address questions related to interpretation or execution of design throughout its lifecycle
- Monitor development and integration progress against the system architecture to identify inconsistencies and collaborate with the team to develop effective solutions
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the system architecture and the teams execution
- Interact with leadership through presentations to discuss the systems architecture, integration, and progress
- Participate in identifying root causes of system-level issues and develop effective corrective actions
