Requirements
Must:
- Masters or Bachelors Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in the development of military avionics systems, requirements documentation, specification creation, component analysis, acquisition, integration, testing, installation, and design validation
- Familiarity with military standards including MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-704, and MIL-HDBK-516
- Proficient in reading and interpreting detailed drawings, specifications, installation diagrams, and testing protocols
- Knowledge of AS9100D or similar quality management systems
- Experience in design and integration considerations affecting size, weight, power, and cooling for aircraft equipment
- Understanding of aircraft rack design, shock isolation, and mission line replaceable units
- Familiarity with electrical wiring interconnection systems including the selection of conductors, connectors, backshells, relays, and circuit breakers
- Awareness of EMI shielding techniques and wire harness separation best practices
- Capability to work autonomously under general supervision and collaborate effectively as part of a large multi-disciplinary team
- Willingness to travel as needed
- Eligibility for Security Clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse team in the design, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and testing of military avionics systems
- Collaborate with Government clients to ascertain and fulfill system requirements, including airworthiness and safety standards
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and aircraft artisans to ensure an integrated approach to system design
- Perform system-level analyses to determine compliance and functionality
- Examine engineering drawings, bills of materials, and other technical documentation
- Prepare, review, and present system-level design concepts during meetings and design reviews with clients
- Develop documentation including test reports, analyses, and other compliance materials to validate and verify system designs
