Chief of Engineering & Security

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in hospitality or related fields; or a 4-year degree plus 1 year of relevant management experience; or a 2-year degree with 3+ years of related management experience. - High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory. - Stationary Engineers license if mandated by local regulations. - Proficient in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance skills. - Ability to work long hours occasionally. - Heavy lifting required – capable of exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, or consistently moving up to 20 pounds. - Occasional travel for company business may be expected. - Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor consistently. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to engage with all levels of staff and guests effectively. - Strong listening and clarification skills for employee and guest concerns. - Capability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions appropriately. - Approach all guest and employee interactions with attentiveness, friendliness, and courtesy. - Required to attend all hotel meetings and training sessions. - Participation in the Manager on Duty (M.O.D.) coverage as needed. - Regular attendance in line with Highgate Hotel Standards is essential, as per schedule requirements. - Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing name tags. - Adhere to Highgate Hotel policies and regulations to promote safe and efficient operations. - Focus on productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in executing solutions. - Proficient in problem-solving, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as needed. - Ability to analyze and evaluate complex information and data from multiple sources to achieve goals. - Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
