Requirements
Must:
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, standards, and best practices
- Familiarity with CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership abilities
- Interest in teaching and mentoring (teaching experience is advantageous)
- Commitment to assisting adults in acquiring new skills and securing employment
- Proficiency in multiple languages—particularly Spanish—is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity (required)
Responsibilities
- Teach cybersecurity and IT subjects, providing real-world examples
- Facilitate discussions, group activities, and hands-on learning experiences
- Offer guidance during CompTIA exam preparation
- Conduct office hours and respond to student inquiries via email
- Assist students both individually and in groups
- Support mentoring opportunities, guest speaker sessions, and collaborative projects
- Help to onboard new student and veteran cohorts
- Revise and enhance curriculum, course materials, and boot camp design
- Contribute to the development of KPs learning content and teaching methodology
- Cultivate positive relationships with customers, students, and veteran participants
- Create robust SOPs for client service execution, establishing repeatable processes and SLAs
- Mentor the team to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and meet key performance indicators
- Reinforce KPs expectations regarding professionalism and career preparedness
- Exemplify KPs values and mission in all interactions
Description
At Kinetic Potential (KP), a mission-driven organization based in Washington, DC, we are dedicated to equipping veterans, students, and career changers with the skills and experience essential for thriving in cybersecurity careers. As we continue to expand, we seek Cybersecurity Consultants to educate, mentor, and support our learners through training and apprenticeship programs. This role also involves delivering Secure Managed Services to small businesses, nonprofits, and government entities within the KP Network. We offer both Full-time and Part-time positions, with remote work flexibility and a salary of $55,000 per year.
