Requirements

Must:
- I have a minimum of 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or a related field; alternatively, I hold a 4-year degree coupled with at least 1 year of relevant management experience, or possess a 2-year degree along with 3 or more years of related management experience. - I have completed my high school education or obtained an equivalent qualification. - I possess a Stationary Engineer’s license if mandated by local regulations. - I have skills in HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, boiler operations, and general maintenance. - I am prepared for long hours if necessary and can exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 20 pounds constantly. - Occasionally, I am willing to travel for company-related business. - I maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. - I effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. - I am adept at listening to, understanding, and addressing concerns raised by employees and guests. - I can multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. - I approach all interactions with guests and employees in a courteous and service-driven manner. - I attend all required hotel meetings and trainings. - I will participate in M.O.D. coverage as needed. - I consistently maintain regular attendance as required by Highgate Hotel Standards, adhering to scheduling that varies according to the hotel's operational needs. - I uphold high standards of personal presentation and grooming, including wearing nametags. - I comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations. - I maximize my efforts towards productivity, identify areas of concern, and assist in implementing solutions. - I effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and resolving issues as necessary. - I can comprehend and assess complex information and data from diverse sources to achieving set objectives. - I respect and maintain confidentiality of information.

Responsibilities

- I supervise and train all Engineering staff regarding Customer Service, Empowerment, Standard Operating Procedures, and Loss Prevention Standards. - I create, approve, and post all Engineering staff schedules according to Highgate Hotel standards. - I formulate and adhere to the annual budget for the department. - I develop financial forecasts and actively participate in monthly profit/loss review meetings. - I devise and implement plans to maintain the property, equipment, grounds, and other assets in satisfactory repair. - I ensure that the hotel is compliant with all local, state, and federal laws. - I establish and execute a preventative maintenance program for all hotel equipment. - I ensure that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested, and certified according to Highgate Hotel standards. - I promptly and courteously handle room maintenance requests. - I respond to all alarms immediately to ascertain the exact location and cause, determining emergency status and reporting my findings to the Front Desk while taking immediate action as necessary. - I provide assistance with special projects and renovations as needed. - I actively participate in energy conservation programs. - I review all guest and meeting planner feedback to ensure timely identification and resolution of issues. - I ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). - I manage all vendor contracts governed by the engineering department. - I support and engage in all Highgate Hotel programs. - I lead and actively participate in the Highgate Hotel Safety Committee.
