Requirements
Must:
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Completion of trade school and/or college coursework in a relevant area is advantageous.
- Availability for flexible and extended hours as needed.
- Ability to lift over 100 pounds occasionally, and over 50 pounds frequently.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with guests and staff.
- Competence in listening to, understanding, and addressing concerns from employees and guests.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize departmental responsibilities.
- Friendly, attentive, and service-oriented approach to all interactions.
- Attendance at all mandatory hotel meetings and training sessions.
- Reliability in maintaining attendance in line with Highgate Hotel standards.
- Adherence to high personal grooming and uniform standards.
- Compliance with Highgate Hotel standards and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
- Proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions to enhance productivity.
- Problem-solving skills, including anticipating, preventing, and addressing challenges as necessary.
- Ability to comprehend and apply complex information from diverse sources.
- Willingness to cross-train in various hotel-related areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Initiative in foreseeing guest and operational requirements.

Technologies
Responsibilities
- Ensure optimal maintenance of the property with minimal disruption to guests and staff.
- Repair the hotels air conditioning system: changing filters, cleaning coils, and replacing motors.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on all equipment, including boilers, chillers, and electrical systems.
- Take essential readings for monitoring equipment.
- Test and record readings from the cooling tower.
- Replace and program televisions as needed.
- Change light switches, receptacles, light bulbs, and fixtures.
- Conduct furniture repairs as necessary.
- Replace and fix pumps as required.
- Address plumbing issues, including clogged drains and changing washers or fittings.
- Read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Trace and repair various water lines throughout the property.
- Troubleshoot and fix kitchen equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations during work.
- Clean and service swimming pools and spas as part of maintenance.
- Paint assigned areas and conduct repairs on sheetrock.
- Restore and maintain various wall coverings.
- Repair and manage the hotels electronic lock system.
