Requirements
Must:
- Extensive hands-on experience with IBM Z, GDPS, DS8K storage, and sysplex environments
- Strong knowledge of NetView, System Automation (z/SA), and REXX
- Experience supporting regulated industries with strict compliance requirements
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions, training sessions, and client-facing engagements
- Ability to engage confidently and professionally with clients at all levels
- Demonstrated patience and clarity when training and mentoring both technical and non-technical audiences
- Skilled in navigating complex client environments diplomatically, especially when meeting the expectations of demanding stakeholders
- Capability to act as a trusted advisor while maintaining a focus on risk reduction, resiliency, and operational excellence
Responsibilities
- Provide support as a Remote z/OS Systems Programmer specializing in GDPS for high-availability, enterprise mainframe systems
- Design and manage DASD architecture including DSCLI scripting and storage carving
- Configure Metro Mirror and Global Mirror replication across various sites and IBM Power devices
- Implement DS8K resiliency to prevent single points of failure through balanced ports, adapters, and I/O compartments
- Update PARMLIB and PROCLIB settings as needed
- Modify CLISTs and make RACF adjustments
- Support new LPARs aligned with DORA, FFIEC, and NIST regulations
- Execute sysplex updates and manage Metro Mirror and HyperSwap configurations
- Build and customize NetView environments from the ground up
- Adjust DSIPARM and STGEN settings for Metro Mirror or Global Mirror scenarios
- Develop REXX automation scripts
- Create and oversee GDPS Policy Databases (PDBs) and automation operators
- Implement dual control and security measures to minimize outage risks
- Deliver comprehensive GDPS training to engineering, operations, and management teams
- Educate clients on GDPS architecture, functionality, and customization options
- Provide structured knowledge transfer for ongoing client support
