Requirements
Must:
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent experience)
- Over 5 years of experience in managing large and complex technical or software implementation projects
- Proven track record of managing scope, schedules, budgets, and risks across multiple stakeholders
- In-depth understanding of IT operations, SDLC, and project governance frameworks
- Outstanding communication, documentation, and leadership abilities
- Capacity to balance competing priorities and achieve results in a fast-paced environment
- Preferably, experience with IBM Z Mainframe environments or IBM Z software migrations
- Familiarity with IBM software products (e.g., RACF, CICS, IDz, or Wazi)
- Understanding of mainframe development languages such as COBOL or PL/I
- Prior involvement in modernization or DevOps transformation projects is advantageous
Responsibilities
- Direct project management for mainframe software migration projects from inception to completion
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish project scope, timelines, and success metrics
- Create and sustain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies
- Oversee cross-functional teams ensuring coordination among engineering, operations, and leadership
- Provide updates on project progress, risks, and mitigation plans to internal and client stakeholders
- Recognize opportunities for process enhancement and facilitate the adoption of best practices for improved delivery
- Ensure that quality and compliance standards are met across all stages of migration projects
- Partner with IBM Z platform teams to synchronize testing, deployment, and cutover processes
- Occasionally travel to client locations throughout North America for critical milestones and workshops
