Requirements
Must:
- Proven ability to effectively work within hybrid SwiftUI/UIKit codebases, supporting existing implementations while progressively modernizing
- Strong understanding of common iOS architectural patterns (e.g. MVC, MVVM, Clean Architecture) with practical experience applying them at scale
- Experience in integrating iOS applications with REST and/or GraphQL APIs, covering robust networking layers, error handling, caching, and offline support
- Proficiency with Git and modern collaborative workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, and branching strategies
- Demonstrated experience in writing testable iOS code, encompassing unit and integration tests using XCTest or similar frameworks
- Familiarity with iOS CI/CD pipelines, including automated builds, testing, and distribution methods (e.g. TestFlight, Bitrise)
- Strong understanding of iOS security best practices, including authentication processes, secure networking, Keychain usage, data protection, and privacy
- Experience utilizing AI coding assistants or autonomous development tools to aid design, implementation, refactoring, testing, and documentation
- Comfort in managing complex technical areas within a long-lived, evolving codebase, making pragmatic decisions, and delivering dependable solutions in production environments
- Demonstrates strong ownership of critical challenges, actively engaging at all levels and beyond iOS boundaries to solve difficult problems, drive results, and assist teams in overcoming hurdles
Responsibilities
- Design and implement modern iOS features utilizing SwiftUI as the core UI framework, adhering to Apple platform best practices
- Maintain and improve existing UIKit-based code, including view controllers, navigation flows, and Auto Layout, while progressively transitioning to SwiftUI when appropriate
- Make informed architectural decisions regarding state management, data flow, navigation, and modularity, balancing modern methods with legacy requirements
- Collaborate closely with product, design, backend, and architecture teams to translate complex requirements into reliable and intuitive mobile experiences
- Execute product and technical roadmaps using agile, sprint-based development, consistently delivering well-tested, production-ready features
- Work on development hygiene, including code quality, automated testing, documentation, and compliance with Apple Human Interface Guidelines
- Refactor and enhance legacy components, frameworks, and patterns with a focus on maintainability, performance, and testability
- Create proof of concepts and prototypes to evaluate new SwiftUI patterns, Apple frameworks, or architectural methods
- Utilize AI coding agents and automated software development tools to expedite development, enhance code quality, explore design alternatives, and assist with refactoring and test generation
- Actively engage in code reviews and technical discussions, contributing to a high standard for engineering excellence across the iOS codebase
