Requirements
Must:
- 8-10+ years of experience in network engineering, focusing on WAN and SD-WAN
- Hands-on experience with SD-WAN platforms such as Cisco Viptela, VMware VeloCloud, Fortinet, and Palo Alto
- Strong understanding of routing protocols like BGP and OSPF
- Experience in designing and supporting enterprise WAN environments including MPLS, internet, and hybrid
- Knowledge of network security principles, including SASE and Zero Trust
- Familiarity with cloud networking platforms like AWS and Azure
- Proficient in troubleshooting complex network issues and maintaining high-availability environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of WAN/SD-WAN in branch, data center, and cloud settings
- Develop SD-WAN policies for traffic routing, QoS, and failover to ensure optimal performance and security
- Assist in adopting SASE and Zero Trust by integrating secure access and cloud controls
- Enable and enhance networking solutions across AWS, Azure, and hybrid environments
- Conduct testing, validation, and documentation of solutions prior to deployment
- Oversee SD-WAN rollouts, migrations, and modernization projects
- Act as a key escalation point for complex incidents, conducting root cause analysis for ongoing improvements
- Utilize Python, Ansible, and APIs to enhance operational efficiency and monitoring
Description
We are seeking a Senior SD-WAN Engineer to spearhead the design and transformation of a global WAN infrastructure in a remote, 12-month contract role, which may extend for an additional 6 months. This position focuses on modernizing our connectivity through SD-WAN to enable secure, scalable, and high-performance networking across branches, data centers, and cloud environments. You will blend hands-on engineering with leadership to advance architecture, automation, and alignment with our cloud and digital initiatives.
