Requirements
Must:
- Over 5 years of experience in a DevOps or Platform Engineering capacity
- Proven experience leading standups or asynchronous workflows with defined acceptance criteria
- Proficient with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Practical experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using platforms like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or TravisCI
- Extensive hands-on knowledge of cloud technologies including Compute (EC2, VMs), load balancing, auto-scaling, cloud storage (S3, Blob), container services (ECS), Kubernetes (EKS), IAM, and VPC networking
- Familiar with configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef
- Strong grasp of fundamental networking principles including subnetting, routing, and VPC architecture
- Solid background in system administration (Linux essential, Windows beneficial)
- Skilled in monitoring and observability tools like Datadog, PagerDuty, and CloudWatch
- Proficient in version control systems like Git
- Excellent communication abilities; capable of providing clear updates for diverse audiences
- Skilled at mentoring and aiding colleagues without formal authority
- Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python
- Demonstrated capacity to transform ambiguous tasks into organized plans with defined ownership and deadlines
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage scalable, secure, and dependable cloud infrastructure for a key SaaS platform
- Collaborate effectively with product and engineering teams to clarify objectives and track progress
- Facilitate brief standup meetings or asynchronous check-ins, managing task tracking in Jira with clear acceptance criteria
- Support and enhance cloud-native microservices environments
- Implement automation, thorough monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code methodologies
- Oversee and improve CI/CD pipelines to enhance efficiency and speed of deployments
- Strengthen systems following industry-standard security protocols
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for critical environments
- Proactively spot potential infrastructure challenges and initiate preventative measures
- Manage Linux (and optionally Windows) environments at scale
- Regularly evaluate existing systems and suggest enhancements
- Collaborate with various agile teams to deliver complete features from concept to launch
- Act as the Directly Responsible Individual (DRI) for designated projects, ensuring delivery and cross-team alignment
- Contribute to operational excellence through incident response, patching, and reliability initiatives
