Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Over 5 years of experience in engineering, administering, and managing various relational database technologies (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Profound knowledge in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise Database Technology environments such as Oracle and PostgreSQL in on-premise setups
- Extensive familiarity with Oracle SYS views and tables necessary for database support
- Extensive experience in installing, upgrading, and executing Disaster Recovery efforts with Oracle databases
- Proficient use of Oracle Enterprise Manager is required
- Knowledge of SQL Tuning and Database Performance Evaluation and Configuration is essential
- Experience in systems engineering, including AIX/Linux performance, memory management, I/O & Performance tuning, security, clusters, and troubleshooting
- Proven experience assisting customers in resolving database, systems, and infrastructure-related issues while providing systems architecture leadership
- Working knowledge of relational database internals (locking, consistency, serialization, disaster recovery)
- Proficiency in at least one scripting language (TCL, Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc.)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience with shell and Python scripting focusing on DevOps tools and CI/CD
- Significant exposure to various OS administration tasks
- Strong analytical problem-solving capabilities and communication skills to collaborate in a team environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- On-site support required five days a week
- SAP Oracle DBA experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, develop, test, debug, implement, and integrate new or existing operational efficiencies into our technical infrastructure and business processes
- Focus on various database technologies with an emphasis on Oracle and PostgreSQL
- Collaborate with application vendors to resolve issues and provide technical leadership to team members and clients
- Utilize a solutions-oriented approach, work ethic, and excellent communication and process management skills to mentor internal customers and teammates on database platforms
- Provide on-call support on a rotational basis along with development activities
