Requirements
Must:
- Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field
- Over 7 years of experience in data science or machine learning, including at least 2 years in a leadership position
- Proven hands-on involvement in all phases of the machine learning lifecycle, from model development to deployment and monitoring
- Strong programming expertise in Python, with knowledge of modern ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to guide teams through transitions, uncertainty, and rapid scaling
- Experience with large-scale, complex, or regulated datasets is an advantage
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of Data Scientists, promoting a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and ongoing education
- Manage the daily execution of data science projects, ensuring they align with product goals and business strategies
- Oversee the creation, deployment, and continual assessment of machine learning models in live production settings
- Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and analytics teams to integrate data science solutions into essential platform operations
- Establish consistent communication practices and alignment across multidisciplinary teams to facilitate effective decision-making
- Utilize advanced machine learning techniques (classification, regression, clustering, NLP, anomaly detection, and generative models) to address intricate, real-world business issues
- Enhance and maintain model governance practices, including version control, monitoring, performance assessment, and drift detection
- Advocate for the evaluation and implementation of innovative tools, platforms, and methods that enhance data science efficiency and scalability

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Data Science, to be both a technical and leadership figure in our expanding data science team located in Louisville, KY. This position involves leading a team of Data Scientists while actively engaging in machine learning strategy and execution. Our focus is to build and enhance production-level models that support core platform functions within a regulated, high-trust environment.
