Requirements
Must:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- Over 5 years of practical SAS development experience at a senior level
- Extensive capability in interpreting and processing mainframe files
- Solid experience working with significant analytical datasets
- Proven track record in supporting batch processing environments
- Capacity to work autonomously with minimal onboarding
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities
Preferred/Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with transitioning systems from SAS to contemporary platforms
- Familiarity with financial services or banking sectors
- Exposure to modernization projects
- Proficiency in C#, C++, SQL Server, and Oracle
- Preference for candidates familiar with .NET or C++
- Strong interest in professionals who have contributed to past SAS migration efforts
- Candidates with experience in transitioning to C# or modern tools are highly valued
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance SAS programs for processing mainframe data files
- Analyze substantial datasets related to outstanding debts and collections activities
- Support and oversee nightly batch processes and file-swapping functions
- Ensure the reliability of daily processing workflows
- Collaborate with internal teams to maintain operational continuity
- Assist in future migration initiatives from SAS to advanced platforms and programming languages
- Create comprehensive process and system documentation, including:
- Data flows
- System dependencies
- File exchanges
- Business and technical stakeholders
