Requirements
Must:
- Over 8 years of practical SAP functional expertise with ECC and S/4HANA, particularly in warranty, service contracts, or after-sales service processes
- Profound knowledge of SAP contracts and coverage logic (such as warranty conditions, eligibility criteria, service levels) and their configuration and execution in ECC and/or S/4HANA
- Demonstrated experience in participating in or leading migrations from ECC to S/4HANA or greenfield implementations, including fit-gap analysis and future state design
- Capability to draft and evaluate functional specifications for enhancements, user exits/BADIs, BRF+ rules, and integrations supporting warranty scenarios
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convert complex functional designs into clear requirements for both business stakeholders and technical teams
Responsibilities
- Analyze and document existing ECC warranty processes, including contracts, coverage logic, pricing, and claims flows across SD/CS and related modules
- Validate ECC system functionality through configuration reviews, test scenarios, and defect analysis to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the current functional design
- Evaluate standard S/4HANA warranty features and identify gaps in relation to business needs, providing clear recommendations on suitability of standard vs. necessary enhancements
- Lead and/or assist in the future state functional design for extended warranty processes in S/4HANA, encompassing configuration, integration points, and effects on upstream/downstream processes
- Work collaboratively with technical teams and business subject matter experts to define, test, and approve functional specifications, enhancements, and configuration modifications related to warranty management

We are looking for a SAP Extended Warranty Subject Matter Expert to join our team in a partially remote role based in Chicago, IL or Milwaukee, WI. You will need to reside in either of these locations to work onsite 50% of the time.
