Requirements
Must:
- Proven experience in designing and implementing RabbitMQ within clustered and highly available on-premises environments
- Hands-on experience with VMware infrastructure, covering compute, networking, and storage
- In-depth understanding of high availability and disaster recovery strategies for messaging platforms
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across architecture, infrastructure, and operations teams
- Capability to translate architectural designs into operationally effective solutions suitable for enterprise production environments
- Preferred: Experience in supporting or scaling retail, POS, or high-throughput transactional messaging
- Preferred: Previous experience in managing pilot-to-production transitions under tight deadlines
- Preferred: Familiarity with enterprise storage replication techniques
Responsibilities
- Design and oversee the implementation of on-premises RabbitMQ architectures, focusing on clustering and ensuring high availability and disaster recovery
- Collaborate with infrastructure and platform teams to integrate RabbitMQ into VMware-based settings and enterprise storage/replication solutions
- Provide guidance on operationalization and readiness for production, including strategies for monitoring and alerting, creating runbooks and standard operating procedures, and establishing NOC handoff and support models
- Work closely with internal account and delivery teams to define the architecture direction, develop resourcing and execution plans, and proactively identify and address architectural risks and assumptions
- Engage in targeted architecture sessions with technical stakeholders from the client
- Assist in the swift delivery of a minimally viable, production-ready high-availability deployment for initial use
- Confirm design decisions to limit rework and unnecessary discovery cycles
