Requirements
Must:
- Hands-on experience in a lab setting testing telecom or network hardware
- Familiarity with RF, fiber, or coax (HFC/DOCSIS) technologies
- Experience using test equipment such as Keysight, Rohde & Schwarz, or comparable tools
- Ability to analyze and document test data effectively
- Practical experience with active and passive network components
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Preferred: Experience in DOCSIS/HFC/cable network settings
- Preferred: Background in outside plant (OSP) or fiber optic work
- Preferred: Proficiency with network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, or similar devices
- Preferred: Basic scripting skills (Python or similar) for data analysis or automation
- Preferred: Combination of fieldwork and lab experience
Responsibilities
- Conduct hands-on testing of network hardware components in a laboratory environment
- Evaluate both active devices (e.g., amplifiers, nodes) and passive components (e.g., cables, connectors, splitters)
- Utilize RF and optical test equipment (network and signal analyzers) to assess performance
- Gather, analyze, and interpret test data to identify issues and trends
- Document results and create comprehensive test reports
- Facilitate validation and certification processes for network infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to troubleshoot and enhance performance
